It’s March! The 3rd Month. As such I’m doing a series of ‘Top 3’ posts for the month. Today, we continue with my 3 of my favourite photographers from history. It pains me to say that the photographers I’m talking about today are no longer with us. All 3 have passed away relatively recently, yet, to me they remain as inspirational as ever. The work they have left behind speaks volumes and I think it’s important that if you don’t know about these photographers already, that you learn about them as soon as you can: Fan Ho - Fantastic ‘Street’ Photographer. Mostly minimilist l black and white, wonderful use of geometry and shape. Ahead of his time for sure! There’s no mistaking a Fan Ho photograph for anyone else’s. Work tells such wonderful stories. Visit: http://www.maryellenmark.com/ Jane Bown - UK based Jane Bown was a genuine portrait legend. Beautiful images backed up with equally beautiful stories as to how each image was made. A long life as a working photographer bought her countless opportunities to photograph some very well known people and, in the process, create stunning work.
