The electric vehicle market continues to grow rapidly as manufacturers compete in a crowded space. US News and World Report recently released their 2025 Best Hybrid and Electric Cars rankings, evaluating 115 different models across various categories. Hyundai stood out as the top performer, earning three prestigious awards for their Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Tucson Hybrid models – a reflection of their $85 billion investment in EV technology across their brand portfolio.

What stood out to me most wasn't just who made the list, but who didn't. Several key models from General Motors were noticeably missing, including the Chevy Equinox EV, Blazer EV, and the luxurious Cadillac Escalade iQ. Having personally driven many of these vehicles, I found myself questioning the evaluation criteria and wondering which specific models were part of the assessment.
