Up until the summer of 2019, I refused to listen to audiobooks or download any sort of digital copy of books because I believed that the only way to enjoy a book was when you had a hard copy in your hands with the smell of paper and margins to write in. But after getting bored of podcasts and music, I finally caved and in the last year; I've quickly learned that it's the narrator (just as much as the author) who plays a key role in making that audiobook come to life (ultimately deciding if I'm going to love it or hate it!)
