20% of senior Americans aged 65+ have been financially abused
80% of telemarketing scam victims are 65+
Scammers cheat seniors out of approximately $2.9 billion annually, according to the Senate Special Committee on Aging.
Being the victim of a scam can be detrimental to our mental health, making us feel helpless, embarrassed, anxious, depressed, fearful, or distrusting others. These feelings can affect our physical health as well, so it's essential to take care of yourself if it happens to you.
