Released in January 1989, Keith Whitley's "I'm No Stranger to the Rain" was the fifth and final single from his album Don't Close Your Eyes. It was also the last single released during his lifetime. Following his death, the song was named the CMA's Single of the Year. (Joe Diffie covered the song on Whitley's 1995 tribute album)
By the way, Whitley and Ricky Skaggs played with Ralph Stanley, not Bill Monroe as Uncle John mistakenly pointed out.
