Rabeinu brings the Gemara Yevamot which tells us that Am Yisrael are called Adam- Man whereas the other nations are not called this. Rabeinu tells us when a Jew falls into the grasp of the Goyim, they sink into the desires of these nations. The only way to remove oneself from these desires and from the grasp of these 70 dark faces is to overpower these 70 dark faces with the 70 shining faces, which one can only attain through toiling in The Torah and breaking one’s desires. This makes someone an Adam, a true Man.
