Listen Later

Rabeinu teaches us such an awesome chiddush: greeting the festivals with joy and a good heart saves a person from pride. Rabeinu explains this by saying that the holiness of the Yom tov is dependent upon the Tzadikim and when one attaches himself to the Tzadik, he nullifies his ego (because something small will always nullify itself to something greater). Therefore, when one accepts the Yom Tov with simcha, he lowers himself before the Yom tov and is able to truly attain lowliness/humility (look inside the lesson for the full explanation).

Rabeinu also connects this idea with a statement saying that one who attaches himself to the Tzadik can truly feel the holiness of the holidays. And how does one attach himself to the Tzadik? Loving the Tzadik!!

Rabeinu also brings the story of Shmuel Hanavi and Agag, king of Amalek, and why he cut Agag into 4 pieces. Rabeinu also teaches us how we are able to elevate the Holy Malkhut from the rule of the evil forces, how to elevate Fear of Heaven, how to open up the womb of a woman who has difficulty having birth, etc…
