This week’s guest on the ‘Torq Moto' Podcast Show is yet another former GP and British championship racer, Mark Jones, who joins hosts DocWob and ‘Jeffro’ Perrett on the sofas for more candid MX chat and motoross nostalgia.Jonesy’s story about his MX career is a good one. In this first episode of two, he explains how and why he started in motocross and quickly became one the UK’s top youth racers before the boy from the valleys of South Wales became a young man and a factory Honda HRC rider in only his second year of 250cc Grand Prix racing. He describes what it was like being MXGP teammates with the likes of Stefan Everts, Fred Bolley, Ryan Hughes and Mark Eastwood and the pressures of being a young factory racer for arguably the most renowned and prestigious team in World Championship motocross. It’s an interesting insight as he explains what was expected of him and how he was a bit of a rabbit in the headlights, especially with the extensive testing after his first year with the team.Thank you for all the likes and subscribes.
