The Gospels devote nearly a third of their length to the final week of Jesus. The

suffering of Jesus is given significantly more attention than His birth.

Quite different from our approach to the life of Christ. We love Christmas!

But when it comes to the immense suffering of Jesus we prefer to edit that down,

remove a few scenes . . . let’s keep this story of Jesus rated PG.

But, regardless of how much you love Jesus, and how revolted you

are by his torture and crucifixion, if you don't understand the torture the Romans

inflicted upon him, if you don't understand how much he suffered for our sake,

his sacrifice and his passion, you can never truly appreciate his love and his

grace and run the risk of taking it for granted.
