David began his rule as King by seeking first to honor God in the presence

Of all the people and properly show who is on the throne! He did this by seeking to bring the ark of the Covenant (place of God’s presence) to Jerusalem. The ark was mishandled and God punished. God is serious about our making him the ruler of our hearts and lives.

He desires the honor and praise and worship he is due! God’s desire is bless his children with his love. He does that when cares for us and protects us! He was even willing to leave his throne and die for us! Will we not give our hearts fully to this King today? Will we seek to give glory to God in all we do?
