GreenShift is a podcast from Skift that focuses on climate change and travel. Each week, Climate Reporter Darin Graham will report on innovations and challenges across the travel industry and speak to industry leaders and thinkers.
Today, we look at extreme heat in Europe and elsewhere. I covered this in a feature-length story in early June that you can read here ('It's Like Being in an Oven:' How Extreme Heat Is Changing Travel), and then again multiple times over the past few weeks as temperatures broke records. Just this week tourists died across Europe from heat-related causes and Paris shut down the Eiffel Tower because of record temperatures.
I'm joined today by Ivan Vukovic, a tour operator in Dubrovnik. Vukovic tells me about the impact heat is having on one of Europe's most popular, growing tourist destinations.
