TOV 25-209 Time Alone with God: Showing Up Daily Like a Warrior in Training

Listen Later

Let me tell you something up front—if you’re trying to walk this life without daily time in God’s presence, you’re walking into a war zone unarmed. Time alone with God isn’t just for the super-spiritual. It’s for warriors who understand this one truth: you can’t win spiritual battles with an empty soul. Your time with Him is your training ground. It’s how you gear up before your feet ever hit the floor.

Our springboard for today’s discussion is:“But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.” — 1 Corinthians 9:27 (ESV)

Paul’s not talking about a casual faith. He’s talking about the kind of discipline that wins. The kind that refuses to coast. The kind that shows up—even when you’re tired, distracted, or busy. And that’s the kind of discipline it takes to meet with God daily.

It’s not about checking off a box—it’s about training your soul.

When I get up early to spend time with God, I’m not just reading words on a page. I’m listening for orders. I’m aligning my heart. I’m asking, “God, what’s the assignment today?”

That time might look different for every man—some read Scripture, others journal, some walk and pray. But here’s the key: just show up. Daily. Not perfectly. Not religiously. Faithfully.

And when you do? Over time you’ll notice something shift. Your spirit sharpens. Your discernment grows. You stop reacting in the flesh and start responding in the Spirit.

This isn’t just a discipline—it’s your lifeline.

Question of the Day:Are you showing up daily for time with God like your life depends on it? Because spiritually—it does.

Mini Call to Action:Set a time and place for tomorrow morning to be alone with God—just 10 minutes to start. Protect it like your soul depends on it.

Prayer:Father, train me to meet with You daily. Even when I don’t feel like it, even when I’m tired—remind me that Your presence is where I find my strength. Make me a man who shows up. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let’s Get to Work.Discipline starts with showing up. Forge the habit. Sharpen the weapon. You’re not just surviving—you’re preparing to lead.
