Most men don’t think journaling is for them. Too emotional. Too slow. Too... soft. But let me tell you—warriors write. Kings document. Prophets record what they hear from God. Why? Because what God is doing in you is too important to forget. Journaling isn’t about writing pretty words. It’s about remembering the fight, the fire, and the faithfulness of God in your story.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is:“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” — Habakkuk 2:2 (ESV)
You don’t journal because you’re emotional. You journal because you’re intentional. You’re recording your growth, your wounds, your breakthroughs. You’re writing down the whispers God gives you in the early mornings and the middle of the storms.
And trust me—those whispers are worth remembering.
A man who journals becomes a man who reflects instead of just reacts. You start seeing patterns. You track answered prayers. You identify lies you’ve believed and truth that’s replaced them.
You start seeing your life through God’s eyes instead of just your own.
Here’s how to make it practical:
* Get a journal and keep it simple. Bullet points. Short prayers. Thoughts from Scripture.
* Write down what God said, what you’re struggling with, what you’re grateful for.
* Don’t aim for perfect. Aim for honest.
When you journal your journey, you build a record of God’s faithfulness you can hand to your sons one day.
Question of the Day:Are you writing down the things God is doing in your life—or letting them fade into forgetfulness?
Mini Call to Action:Start today. Write one page—or one paragraph—about where you are in your walk with God. Make it a new habit.
Prayer:Father, help me become a man who remembers. Teach me to write down what You’re saying, what You’re doing, and how You’re shaping me. Let my journal become a testimony of Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s Get to Work.Pick up your pen, warrior. The story God’s writing in you deserves to be remembered.
