Every man—every man—will hit a season where God feels silent, the Word feels dull, and your spirit feels dry. It’s not a sign you’ve failed. It’s a sign you’re in training. Spiritual dryness isn’t the end of your journey—it’s often the place where God digs the deepest wells. The question isn’t if you’ll face the desert—the question is what you’ll do in it.
Our springboard for today’s discussion is:“For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.” — Psalm 107:9 (ESV)
God honors hunger—even when it feels like He’s far away. In dry seasons, your obedience speaks louder than your emotions. Showing up in prayer when you feel nothing? That’s faith. Opening your Bible when it feels dead? That’s warfare.
Spiritual dryness doesn’t mean God’s distant. It often means He’s drawing you deeper—past your feelings, into real dependence.
Here’s what you don’t do:
* Don’t run to distractions.
* Don’t numb yourself with busyness.
* Don’t assume God’s done with you.
Here’s what you do:
* Stay rooted in the Word—especially the Psalms.
* Be honest in your prayers—raw, real, unfiltered.
* Surround yourself with men who speak truth when your soul forgets.
The dry place is not the graveyard. It’s the forge. God’s refining your faith, burning away the fluff, and anchoring you in truth. He’s teaching you to trust Him without the emotional high.
This discipline separates boys from warriors.
Question of the Day:How do you respond when your walk with God feels dry and lifeless? Do you retreat—or do you press in deeper?
Mini Call to Action:If you’re in a dry season, don’t fake it. Tell God. Then stay planted. Fast. Pray. Stay in the Word—and ask for fresh fire.
Prayer:God, I feel dry—but I’m not giving up. Draw me deeper. Teach me to seek You even when the fire feels low. You promised to satisfy the hungry. I’m hungry for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s Get to Work.Keep digging, warrior. The well is deeper than you think—and the water is coming.
