If you are a chiropractic educator, researchers at the University of Cambridge are looking for your input into a new study of the culture of your profession. As we are all aware, there has been a recent increase in educational establishments offering professional training courses in chiropractic. With this increased capacity for pre-registration training comes an increased demand for professionals to fulfil the role of chiropractic educators.
Understandably, resources have been put into raising the profession's profile and developing educational standards and outcomes. However, partly due to this, research into chiropractic educators' academic needs has been neglected.
This study aims to discover the self-perceived identity of chiropractic educators, where and how they have attained their teaching skills and their thoughts on the need and provision of professional development. No similar research has been done in this field, and volunteers are being sought to participate in this study.
