"Little things matter. The small amounts of harmful chemicals we use in our daily lives can add up and affect our health in significant ways. Let's be mindful of what we bring into our homes."
I'm excited to introduce our guest speaker today, Megan Pedersen, who will take us through her journey of discovering the link between toxic chemicals and health issues.
In 2015, during her pregnancy, Megan developed eczema, which caused unbearable itching all over her body. She tried several steroid creams that only provided temporary relief. Her search for a solution led her to explore the impact of household cleaning products on her skin.
Megan discovered safer alternatives, like using microfiber cloths and water to clean, which are offered by Norwex. She shares a study that shows how certain spray cleaners and VOCs found in many household products can lead to severe respiratory issues, comparable to smoking a pack of cigarettes a day for 20 years. This data highlights the need to reduce chemical exposure in our homes.
By switching to safer cleaning alternatives, using microfiber cloths and water, and investing in whole house water filters to reduce chlorine exposure, we can significantly improve our well-being.
Let's take this journey together and strive for a healthier, toxin-free lifestyle.
