Toyota Vehicle Recalls: Analysis of Rearview Camera and Driveshaft Failures
Executive Summary
Toyota has initiated two distinct recalls affecting over 400,000 vehicles in the United States. The primary recall impacts approximately 393,838 Tundra and Sequoia models due to a software bug that can cause the rearview camera display to fail, significantly increasing crash risk. A separate, smaller recall involves about 6,000 Tacoma 4WD trucks for a potentially faulty front driveshaft joint that could break and impair vehicle control. In both cases, Toyota will provide free inspections and repairs through its dealer network. Owner notification for the larger camera recall is scheduled for late November 2025.
