1996       Started as a volunteer on the Posse with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office

1997       Started working as a Part-time Officer for the Kasson Police Department

1999       Went back to school to get his Law Enforcement Degree at RCTC in Rochester

1999       Helped Kasson PD develop and fund the county’s 1st K9 Program

99-01     Full-time Civilian Employee for Rochester PD in Crime Prevention

01-02     Dodge County Dispatcher

2002       Hired by Bill Weber as a full-time Patrol Deputy

02-11     Patrol Deputy

                Helped develop the Sheriff’s Office’s first Website

                Developed DCSO’s first Crime Prevention Program

                Worked with DCIT and State of MN to develop DCSO’s first In Squad Computer System

                Developed and helped fund Sheriff’s Office’s first Taser Program

                Developed DCSO’s first Warrants Unit

2011       Promoted to Investigator

2014       ran for Sheriff and was elected in November

2015       Sworn in as Dodge County’s 26th Sheriff

15-present          Currently in 2nd Term at DCSO

NOTE: Second career for Scott.  Originally attended the Ron Bailie School of Broadcast in Phoenix Arizona after graduating from Kasson Mantorville in 1987 and worked in radio in several states before getting involved in law enforcement.   Scott’s father Bob Rose was a long time teacher at KM who also served in law enforcement for both the Kasson Police Department and Dodge County Sheriff’s Office from 1968 to 2000.   Scott’s oldest son is also a State Trooper in Colorado and his grandfather was a Special Deputy for the Divide County Sheriff’s Office in North Dakota.
