Manuscrits de la Cour – Les Héritages Bourbons d’Akiva David is a grand suite of original Baroque compositions inspired by a remarkable family discovery. During a private visit with his Bourbon cousins in France, Akiva David was shown rare court music manuscripts—once played in the gilded halls of Versailles—which ignited the creative spark for this album.
Drawing on the ceremonial brilliance of Rameau, the stately gravitas of Handel, and the ornate sophistication of Delalande, each track reimagines the triumphal marches, noble dances, and processional fanfares that would have echoed through the salons and gardens of Louis XIV’s court.
From the near-silent call of a lone oboe to the thunder of timpani and blazing natural trumpets, the music moves between solemn ritual and exuberant celebration, reflecting the opulence and grandeur of 18th-century France. Recorded in historically informed style with period instrumentation and pitch, this album is both a personal homage and a revival of a lost royal sound world.
