‘Don’t think you’re the minority in the place. Think about what you can bring to the table.’----Tracy Pham
‘It is what it is.’ That is one of the attitudes to embrace in any situation often when things don’t appear to one’s advantage. Yet, there are always people who are able to recognize the blessing behind every challenge. Even fewer people have the courage and capacity to embrace such an outlook to empower not only themselves, but others they identify with. As our guest speaker Tracy well said, we must first be the change we want to see by upgrading what we think. And that what enabled her to achieve what she has to earn her place on this podcast:
With a background in Media & Communications, Tracy Pham, a migrant from Vietnam since 2013, is a passionate advocate for change in the realms of community empowerment, particularly within culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. As a dedicated member of the Australian Vietnamese Women Association, Tracy channels her commitment to community empowerment by providing media support to various projects, including Age Care services, Family & Children initiatives, Training programs, Family Domestic Violence Prevention, and Gambling Counselling. These efforts aim to promote the health and well-being of migrants and refugees. Tracy’s impact extends to her role as a Board committee member for Meld Community since 2020, actively contributing to the development of a healthy international student community in Victoria and fostering their integration into Australian life and society with respect.
In her free time, Tracy lends her voice to Magnify magazine, a quarterly digital publication that recently received the Tech Diversity Awards in the Marketing, Media, and Advertising category. Tracy’s contributions celebrate inspiring women of colour in STEM, breaking barriers, and making a difference. (Follow Tracy on LinkedIn)
