Hochberg, chairman and president of the Export-Import Bank of the United States from 2009 to 2017, presents an enjoyable and insightful defense of free trade. Drawing on the history of American trade policy and the contemporary reality of intertwined supply chains and taco salads, he explains why and how the current populist turn toward protectionism threatens the welfare of consumers, workers, and entrepreneurs and undermines US foreign policy goals.
