To follow Jesus is to receive an invitation, each day, to take part in something greater. While the world around us fosters things like exhaustion and division, competition and consumption, the Christian faith speaks of a life with greater peace and deeper joy. But we don’t experience it naturally. It involves a trade: letting go of what’s offered by the world and laying hold, by God’s grace, of something far superior.
