Jesus is calling you to be strong enough, courageous enough to break the cycle. Jesus is calling you to have strength enough, courage enough to be the one to break the icy silence in the marriage and apologize for your part in the broken relationship. Jesus is calling you to be the big person and pick up the phone and call your parents, your co-worker, your friend---whoever it was that hurt you, and offer grace---the same way that Jesus reached out to you and offered you grace.
