I got so much gold from my interview with Sally Spencer-Thomas! She shared wisdom from all the amazing work she’s done around suicide prevention- particularly for men and people who work in construction and surrounding industries.

Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas⁠ was moved to work in suicide prevention after her younger brother, a Denver entrepreneur, died of suicide after a difficult battle with bipolar disorder.

I had the pleasure of interviewing one of my new heroes Mandi Kime on the podcast. She had a crazy traumatic journey through infertility to being a mom of multiples and she shares some straight up gold.

I'm honored to promote a story about a true badass of a woman in construction during Women's History Month.

Phil Holland faced death at the hands of police brutality, and came back to life. He learned not to take this on alone in the process.

Phil was delivering pizza for his job and was shot at 14 times and hit twice - in the face and the leg. He survived to tell the story that police brutality is real and it happens to people who are completely innocent.

Phil shares about the support he needed throughout his journey of recovery:

Reach out. Don't face what you are going through by yourself. It will likely seem easier to go it alone; better, cheaper, even. Accept sooner than later that you don't have to rough it out on your own. The catharsis that takes place when you speak on what is ailing you will do you and your journey wonders.

Terrie Vanover was willing to look at her pain and trust that peace was on the other side. Now she teaches people how to deal with divorce in an empowering way. She's been especially helpful for men, including many men in blue-collar industries, to be able to get the support they need in those difficult times.

Nelson Tressler has a secret - everybody struggles, it might just look different for all of us.

Author of "The Unlucky Sperm Club: You are Not a Victim of Your Circumstance But a Product of your Choices" Nelson vulnerably shared his story with us and dropped a ton of wisdom along the way.

Nelson shares that a lot of time we see people who are successful and we think they have it all figured out. He wants people to know we're all working on getting better and getting well. When people pull back the curtains you will see that they are dealing with their own situations. Don't feel like you're the only person struggling.

Chris Knuth was an integral part of saving my life. I started to heal the traumas of my childhood and to unload the backpack of all the weight I was carrying. I'm patient with the process. I realize it took me years to get into this mess and will likely take years to get out.

Sara made some choices when she was younger that led to her getting hooked on drugs. Some of us may be able to relate.

Things got pretty bad and she ended up committing some crimes to feed her habit that landed her in prison. She was sentenced to 5 years.

I have a ton of respect for this powerful woman because of the fact that she turned her life around for the better and that she’s willing to share her story to make a difference for others.

Heather is truly brave for sharing this story with us. Growing up in a family where drugs and crime were the norm was rough. It taught her that trading her body for drugs, being on the run, and committing crimes to feed her habit were just the way it goes in life. Listen to how her personal suffering, that of her kids, and the experience of being in prison turned into the career of her dreams. Heather is now greatly accomplished being nominated for the Top 10 Women in Construction by Construction Business Owner magazine, and enjoys a life where she gives back to help more women in need.
