Caught in a violent storm at sea, Dorothy Gale once again finds herself swept off to a fairytale land. She makes new friends, including Billina the talking hen, and Tik-Tok the machine man; she is reunited with old ones, like the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman and the Cowardly Lion; and she is invited to team up with Princess Ozma, ruler of the Land of Oz, on a dangerous but important rescue mission.
