There is almost nothing more wonderful than a family dog. They are loyal companions. They love us unconditionally. But, an untrained dog, even with the most basic of commands can be a challenge for your family, your community and your dog. Untrained dogs become the alphas. They run your family and household. They can also be dangerous. An untrained dog is known to bite and be aggressive. Or to be skittish and afraid. Training your dog with the basic commands of: sit, down, stay, off, leave it changes everything. Allowing your dog to be free to run around the neighborhood is dangerous. It can also get you into legal trouble. You don’t want your dog to end up at the pound or worse put to sleep. You don’t want to end up with fines. As a former veterinary technician who has worked with a myriad of animals domesticated, feral and wild, too many times I’ve seen what an untrained dog can do.
