Luring your dog to teach them behavior is a great way if you plan on spending a long time getting them off treats. Using targeting and shaping is a better alternative in my professional dog training experience. Not only can you be clear with your expectations, wean them off treats faster, but also have a dog with a clear and level mind when normally they would be too food motivated.
