On Saturday, June 14th, we woke in Minnesota to the devastating news that Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark had been murdered, and that Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette were in critical condition after being shot.

The question that lingered on my mind was, 'How do we move towards grace?'

There isn't an easy or simple answer, and this might not be the time for one. But as followers of Jesus and as those who believe in the ever-present reality of grace, we struggle to move in the direction of love and justice even when we might not want to.

Naming truth. Modeling love. Witnesses to grace.
