Lacie McMillin discusses Yaa Gyasi’s Transcendent Kingdom, with Lisa Von Drasek, on this installment of Read This Book from the University of Minnesota Libraries.

Transcendent Kingdom is a novel about faith, science, religion, and love, centered on a family of Ghanaian immigrants ravaged by depression and addiction and grief. It’s Gyasi’s followup to her acclaimed national best seller Homegoing.

Lisa Von Drasek is the Curator of the Children’s Literature Research Collections at the University of Minnesota Libraries. Lacie McMillin is a Library Assistant at the University of Minnesota Libraries.
