Have you ever seen a JESUS OBITUARY? (No!)
Have you noticed that no one ever refers to “the late Jesus
Christ”? He died at the cross. But God raised Jesus up in triumph.
Death could not hold him. What Satan thought was his greatest
victory turned into his greatest disaster. At the cross, God won the
victory and Satan was defeated.
Two people were talking and one asked, “If you came to a
crossroads and saw three people there, Jesus, Mohammed, and
Buddha, who would you ask for directions?”
“Jesus,” replied the other.
“Why?”
“Well, if you came to a crossroads and saw three people
of whom two were dead and one was alive, who would you ask?!”
Yet, friends, it isn’t enough to know Jesus is alive. The
real question is whether he is alive in you. Paul says, “Christ in
you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27) John says, “Greater is
he that is in you than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
The great good news of Easter is not that we can be fully
alive some day but that by the power of Jesus Christ we can be
fully alive today. With that in mind, today we begin a three-part
series called “Deeply into Grace.”
