About Gabe:
GABE ORTIZ is a proud father, a professional actor, a playwright and a member of the Actors Equity Association. His acting work has been seen on local and national stages. He is currently the co-host of WEDU Arts Plus on PBS, the co-founder and Vice Principal of Oasis Middle School in Bradenton, Florida, and the Artistic Director for the TAKE Theatre Ensemble, a performance group for at risk teens whose work has been featured on A Gulf Coast Journal with Jack Perkins and garnered a Regional Suncoast Emmy Award for Best Educational Programming.
Gabe credits the theatre for saving his life, and teaches children to create art out of their difficult life experiences. Originally from Los Angeles, California, he has a B.A. in Theater Arts from Cal State Northridge and an M.F.A. in Acting from Penn State University. You can contact Gabe via email at
