In this livecast from OpenStack Summit Tokyo Chris Buerger, a Technologist in the SDN Marketing Organization at Intel discusses how OpenStack is playing a large role in the transformation that is currently taking place in the network. He outlines how Intel is focusing on contributing to a set of capabilities called Enhanced Platform Awareness (EPA) and that these capabilities are already incorporated into a number of OpenStack networking projects including Neutron and Nova. Chris talks about how Intel is working to implement different capabilities that enhance OpenStack orchestrated networks to achieve line-rate throughput and that there are already twelve or so capabilities delivered through EPA that help achieve the performance needed for a carrier grade OpenStack environment.
