Transforming Your Doula Business By Shifting Your Mindset
As a birth or postpartum doula, you have an infinite amount of clients. People are always having babies!
So it truly saddens me when I see doulas who have the mindset that they can't get clients, they have to take more courses in order to get clients, or you have to offer 50 million different services.
This mentality is so negative and comes from how we are taught as new doulas.
The truth is, you can get clients without having to take more courses or offer a ton of services. All it takes is just being consistent, confident, creative, and authentic.
You need to focus on your strengths instead of feeling like you have to be a jack of all trades in order to get clients. What are your strengths? Think about what makes you unique and why clients should choose you as their doula.
Once you identify your strengths, use them to market yourself in a creative way. There are so many different ways to market yourself and your services, you just need to find the ones that work for YOU. This could be through word-of-mouth referrals, networking events, online advertising, etc.
The final step is to be confident in your services and don’t be afraid to ask for what you are worth. When you have confidence in yourself, your clients will too and they’ll be sure to come to you over any other doula.
So don’t be discouraged, if you want to be a successful doula, a simple mindset shift can make a huge difference.
The secret sauce is doing all of this and adding in an abundance mindset.
