A Senate Committee voted 5-3 in favor of a bill spelling out who can use men’s and women’s public bathrooms. This bill would require everyone to use the bathroom with the gender that matches their birth certificate. It now moves on to the full senate… after already passing in the House. KSL Newsradio Reporter, Hugo Rikkard-Bell spoke with the lawmaker behind this proposal Representative Kera Birkeland about the reasoning for this bill as well as Sue Robbins from Equality Utah, who speaks to the concerns for the transgender community.
