Deuteronomy 34 brings not only the book of Deuteronomy, but the entire Torah, to a close. We are also saying goodbye to Moses as the leader of Israel. And although everyone knew that Joshua would take his place, they now face the reality of Moses’ departure as he goes home to be with the Lord and Joshua transitions into the role of Israel’s new leader.
