We all have been that child who’s interested in something and were unable to do it because our parents/guardian said no. We also have experienced suppressing parts of ourselves because it was deemed unacceptable under the notion of “it is my house in my rules“. This in turn caused a lot of emotional stress and created coping mechanisms of safety to be who we want to be once we leave their space.
