Transitioning a Church to a House of Prayer - Why it Rarely Works...and Why it's a Powerful Move...
Transitioning our church to a house of prayer was a revealing process:
I discovered that many people enjoyed worship but not intercession. They valued developing human relationships much more than developing intimacy with Jesus. They were more comfortable in a typical Sunday service than in a spontaneous, prophetic service. They were mostly looking for teaching that offered tips for successful living. The idea of having vision for regional transformation was foreign to them.A focus on revival was not attractive to them. They enjoyed soaking in God's presence but not contending for transformation.A focus on the end-times was irritating.Spiritual warfare was unnecessary to them.Saying prayers was okay, but praying fervently as a lifestyle was too costly.
