The future isn’t what it used to be. Our prospects for the twenty-first century look very different than they did at the outset of the twentieth, with an increasingly unstable climate, rising energy prices, and a volatile economy converging on a global society that is woefully unprepared. Or is it? The Transition Network began in the UK as a community-scaled, grassroots response to our worldwide predicament. At its heart is a realization that we can live simpler, happier, more enviromentally- and socially-conscious lives by transitioning away from a way of life that relies on enormous amounts of energy. Today Transition is a worldwide movement, and Transition KW is just one of nearly five hundred independent initiatives worldwide.
