In this week’s episode, I sat down and had a bedazzled conversation with Hidayah Hassan founder and creative director of Cipela Shoes, the handcrafted shoes designed and born in Malaysia.

Hidayah shared with me on how being transparent and honest with herself and her team about the financial state of the business and the weekly plans have helped them move forward during the quarantine period.

Hidayah has won herself numerous accolades such as being named one of Nona’s 60 Inspirational Women in 2015 in conjunction with Nona Magazine being 3 decades, the Young Iconic Women Award in 2015 by Putri UMNO and BOSS Awards Malaysia in the category of Best in Retail back in 2016 by the Malaysia Association of Asean Young Entrepreneurs, amongst others.

On a personal note, Hidayah also spoke about putting importance on her self care and spirituality; as it helps her become centred, calm and provides clarity on how best to navigate her business during this time.
