"What a Country!" When Yakov Smirnoff arrived in the United States from the Soviet Union, he found stardom comparing life in America to life in Russia. His film Moscow on the Hudson documented some of his adventures and he wowed audiences nationwide with appearances on late-night TV talk shows. Smirnoff later opened a successful theater in Branson and performed there himself before retiring to California.
