I’ve been a digital nomad for the better part of a decade and in that time have experimented with over a hundred different Smart Drugs or Nootropics. I’ve crossed at least 30 borders with all sorts of interesting, pharmacologically active potions and powders on my person.

The truth is that you're taking a bit of risk anytime you're crossing borders with smart drugs, Nootropics, supplements, or medicine that are not immediately identifiable by the border guards as something that might be bought at a pharmacy in that country. If they can't identify they may pull you out of line, detain you, deny you entry to the country, or interrogate you in a backroom (you better have some good answers for them!) And you never know when you may cross paths with a corrupt border guard who will use your pills, powders, or other Biohacking goodies as an excuse to extort a bribe out of you.

Before bringing Nootropics or smart drugs to a new country; you want to do a little thinking and research about what kind of country it is. I wouldn't bring white, powdered supplements to a theocratic Muslim country, Singapore, or Brazil. These places are infamous for throwing foreigners in the slammer for seemingly insignificant infractions.

However, I've crossed over 30 borders carrying all manner of supplements (even powdered ones) and I've never had a hint of trouble. When I travel I keep my supplements in a deep, secluded corner of my luggage that security has never checked. I don't talk to anyone while in transit on a bus, plane, or train about what I'm carrying. And I don't declare anything upon entering.

Bottom line

I don't think you need to be really paranoid about traveling with your Nootropics stash. Of the hundreds of Biohackers and travelers I've spoken with, I've never heard of someone being badly harassed or imprisoned in a Brokedown Palace situation as a result of carrying Nootropics, supplements, or medicine across borders. Keep those white powders out of sight and you should be fine.
