Growing up with a traveling salesman as a father, travel was normal to Bridget Scotti. As she grew up she realized that wasn’t the case for everyone. When her friend turned 21 and had yet to travel, he decided it was time to plan a trip. The problem was he kept overthinking and going back and forth. Being decisive and a great travel planner, Bridget got him to let her pick and plan it all. Not knowing where he was going until the morning of, Bridget’s friend had a great time. That’s when she realized she had a great business idea.
Together with two friends, Bridget founded Whym, a surprise destination vacation company. It’s truly for the adventurous at heart. Travelers select their type of trip, from couples trip to road trip, their budget, and fill out an extensive questionnaire. They’re asked everything from their favorite type of food to how long it takes them to get ready. They aim to push travelers outside of their comfort zone and broaden their horizons.
