As a cancer patient, sometimes I plummet toward the edge of death. This is a straight-up podcast recorded in bed in the dark of the early morning, at a time when I was very ill, struggling and on my own.

It's at times like this when we really start facing the truths of our lives - times when we might lose our life and we suddenly notice and own up to things we hadn't seen before. Or we didn't have what it took to look at it before.

So here's a taste of what it's like in the deep, dark space of illness, and the insights it generates. Because facing the spectre of dying draws our attention to what we're doing being alive.
