Jon Landis preaches a sermon from our Treasuring God Series entitled "Treasuring the Cross."   We don't like difficulty or hardship.  We'd prefer to skip the tough stuff and get the results.  Suffering for following Jesus is often unwelcome, and unsettling.  We love the idea of being saved from our sin and enjoying the victory that Christ brought via the cross.  Before Jesus went to the cross  he showed us how to live.  That way was not easy and was marked with the expectation to deny ourselves and carry our cross daily.  Following Jesus was not easy.  This sermon appeals to us to treasure not only the victory the cross brings but the hardship and suffering following Jesus can lead to.
