Wanted to enjoy ...Just couldn't listen
I love Norse mythology. I grew up on the tales of Oden, Freyja, Thor and Loki. I wanted to listen to these wonderful tales and hear the delight of the storyteller as she wove these myths into fantastic yarns. But this readers mispronunciation of the names, the dry- almost disinterested storytelling made listening to this book a chore.
It almost made me feel akin to Loki, being bound by Narfi's end-trails and having venom dripped into my ears.
This is one to avoid!
Good Listen
I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of stories. It was interesting and the narrator did well.
Big disappointment
I know that this is a book for children. However, I expected more culture and less slang. My tween knows, and considers obsolete, yikes and double yikes. On the other hand, I would prefer that my younger children learn that you need to discuss a situation to find a solution instead of 'hashing it out'.
Fantastic
Story is innately amazing. the reader gives great breath to these characters. If you want to learn of Viking culture, start here.
A little short
Good narrator, good story. Unfortunately its very short.
(just filling out word requirements, kinda dumb)
