Trent grew up in housing commission in Brakenridge, Brisbane. He is a Walkley Award winning journalist, and in 2018 published his debut novel 'Boy Swallows Universe', which broke all the records and is currently being filmed for a Netflix series. With this book, and his other books 'All Our Shimmering Skies' and 'Love Stories' Trent has sold over 1.2 million copies in Australia alone.
