After being asked to do a 3 day devotional series on grieving through the holidays by a church out in Hill City, Kansas, it occurred that this applies not only during the holidays, but really all year long.  We thought after completing that series, it would be appropriate to put that together into a CoffeeCast and share it so that anyone could easily have access.  Also, below are the notes and scriptures to each section.  

Day 1 scriptures: 

  • Isaiah 53:3… ‘a man of sorrows’… 
  • Psalm 34:18… ‘close to the brokenhearted’  

    • Day 2 scriptures: 

    • Matthew 7:24-25)…. a foundation of solid rock? 
    • Jeremiah 29:  11-13  God’s promise to YOU! 
    • John 16:33:… ‘you will have trouble’. 
    • Psalm 119:105….”Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path”  

      • Day 3 scriptures: 

      • Let go… 1 Pet. 5:7 
      • Trust God…  Isa. 26:3–4; Prov. 3:5–6 The Psalms:  
      • Be still and meditate on God’s Word & Pour out your thoughts and feelings to God 
      • Hope… Ps. 31:24; 38:15; Rom. 5:1–5; Heb. 11:1 
      • Comfort others… 2 Cor. 1:3–4… 
      • The WORD…that “everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through perseverance and encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”  Romans 15:4
