Tri-Citizens

This episode, I talked to Lori Mattson, President and CEO of the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce. We talk about Tri-Cities and why she loves her job. One of the projects she’s most excited about is the new MyTri2030.

So much progress happening in Tri-Cities because of the many people who believe in the fullness of its future. In efforts to help even larger projects take shape, the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce has gathered a group of people to champion MyTri2030. They are calling everyone in Tri-Cities to give their input in form of a survey. They will then work with NewEdge, a local Tri-Cities company, and others throughout the entire area to gather this input and create a list of projects for all of us to work on to create our best 2030.

Tri-Cities Alliance FC has fulfilled the long-time desire for a Tri-Cities soccer team. Alliance is Tri-Cities’ only semi-professional team that looks to bring our area together with one united team. They played their first game in May of 2017, and have since won two tournaments and came in second in a third. These accomplishments helped them get accepted late last year into the highest level adult league in Washington, the Evergreen Premier League of Washington (EPLWA). The 2018 season will kick off in April and we’re looking forward to cheering them on.

In this episode, co-owners Zach Sansom and Jared “JD” Loveless talk about how they and co-owner, Ramiro De La Mora, got started and why they are proud to bring this team to Tri-Cities.

In the latest of Fuse’s live Fireside Chats, Councilman Steve Lee describes the fun he’s had taking advantage of where hard work can get you as the big fish in a small pond. He talks about starting Green2Go, a recreational cannabis retailer, and the particular challenges of staying on the “light side” in this newly legal industry. He also talks about his experience campaigning — and winning — a seat on Kennewick’s City Council this past November.

Justin Jones interviewed Councilman Steve Lee. Justin is a remote employee for VMware, a silicon valley based company that makes software for businesses. He is actively involved in the Fuse community, and enjoys tinkering with electronics, playing games of any sort, and drinking good beer.

Joey Armstrong moved from San Francisco to Tri-Cities. Back in San Francisco, he became a successful tattoo artist and has since opened up Thunderhand Tattoo in the Uptown in Richland.
