God does not tempt us, as James 1 says, but He does test us.
If He doesn't ever test us, we'll never grow! Think about it: if only good things happened to you, then we're just spoiled brats! Trials and hardships are inevitable in this life, and they reveal what is truly inside of us (ex. fear or anger, perseverance or love). Embracing them as a regular part of human life is necessary.
