In June 2020, Tricia McManus began serving as Deputy Superintendent in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. As Deputy, she oversaw school leadership, equity and accountability, and safety and emergency preparedness. In November of 2020, McManus was named Interim Superintendent for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools after the resignation of Dr. Angela Hairston. On February 23, 2021, WS/FCS Board of Education officially named her the 8th Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Superintendent.
